Cindy Hardy

Cindy Hardy brings a rich background in Human Resources management from her 35-year career in the Bay Area's tech industry. A Delaware native who spent her formative years in Southern California, Cindy holds a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA and an MBA from Pepperdine. She moved to Reno's Somersett community in 2017 with her husband, Rex, finding a perfect spot overlooking the 12th hole. Parents to Brett and Jeffrey, who also reside in Reno, Cindy has been an active member of the Somersett Ladies Golf Association, serving as VP and President. With a lifelong passion for golf, she's dedicated to enhancing the club's reputation as Reno's premier golf destination, cherishing the sport and community it fosters.

Wayne Griffin

Vice President, Term: Year 3 of 3

Wayne Griffin, a Reno resident since 1966 and married to Jackie for over 25 years, boasts a deep connection with the Somersett community, having joined the Golf and Country Club in 2004. With four children and two grandchildren, the Griffins have actively contributed to the community, serving on the Somersett Board and Men's Golf Association, and investing in seven local properties. Wayne's commitment to the Club is fueled by the friendships, golf, and camaraderie it offers, underscoring a lasting gratitude for the enriching experiences Somersett CC has provided his family.

Tom Warden

Secretary, Term: Year 2 of 3

Tom Warden’s desire to serve on the board comes from his experience on the finance committee, where he gained valuable insights into the club’s operations and contributed to key discussions. He is inspired to play a more active role in shaping the club’s future, with a focus on achieving financial stability, investing in capital improvements, and ensuring the food and beverage operations meet or exceed break-even performance. Believing in the strength of the club’s management team, Tom views the board’s role as making strategic decisions while holding the GM accountable for financial and operational goals. With a B.S. in Accounting and an MBA from Harvard, Tom retired after a 39-year career in insurance, holding leadership roles such as Chief Data Officer at AIG and Employers Insurance. He is committed to ensuring Somersett Golf and Country Club’s long-term success and growth and looks forward to earning the support of fellow members.

RJ Steines brings over 30 years of finance expertise, excelling in accounting, FP&A, and system implementations across diverse industries. His roles have included Corporate Controller and VP of Finance, focusing on improving financial accuracy and operational efficiencies. RJ is passionate about leveraging his skills to drive organizational growth by enhancing information quality and business process control.

Taylor Adams

Taylor Adams serves as CEO of a regional not-for-profit organization and brings more than 25 years of experience in strategic management, budgeting, and operations. He previously led an organization that owned and operated championship golf courses for six years and served as Chief Financial Officer for a large not-for-profit entity. At Somersett Golf & Country Club, Taylor contributes his expertise as a member of the Ad Hoc Governing Documents Committee. He is also an active participant in club tournaments and social events and enjoys frequenting the Club’s amenities with his family of six.

Christine Bruemmer

Christine Bruemmer has more than 35 years of experience in education, serving as a Teacher, Vice Principal, and Principal before becoming District Coordinator of Special Education. Throughout her career, she has focused on fostering strong relationships, effective leadership, and inclusive learning environments. At Somersett Golf & Country Club, Christine has served on the Somersett Ladies Golf Association (SLGA) Board for three years and on the Entertainment Committee for one year, contributing her passion for community engagement and collaboration.

Marcus Erling

Director, Term: Year 1 of 3

Dr. Marcus Erling is Professor and Chair of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. He previously served as President and CEO of Laboratory Medicine Consultants in Las Vegas, leading a team of 28 pathologists and more than 60 employees across 14 hospitals. A graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno (Class of 1974), Dr. Erling trained at multiple institutions before returning to UNR Med, where he retired in 2014. He and his wife, Susan, have lived in Reno since 2015 and enjoy spending time with their two adult children, Taylor and Alex.

Bob Felder

Bob Felder is a geologist and corporate executive with more than 20 years of experience in management and leadership roles. He holds both a B.S. and M.S. in Geology and has extensive expertise in corporate governance, fiscal accountability, and operational efficiency. Bob’s career has also emphasized team building, capital markets, and strategic leadership. At Somersett Golf & Country Club, he is an active participant in SMGA tournaments and a regular attendee of club social events.

Kay O'Brien

Kay O'Brien, a lifelong Reno/Sparks resident, has been a member of Somersett Golf and Country Club since 2008 and has lived in the community for over nine years. She holds a B.S. in Business Management with a focus on Human Resources from the University of Nevada-Reno and brings more than 35 years of experience in executive-level HR roles within the gaming and technology sectors. Kay has also served in volunteer board positions for organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters and was a founding board member for Hometown Health Plan Insurance Company. She and her husband, Bruce, are proud parents to Erin Smith (Austin Smith) and Evan O’Brien (Caroline Johnson) and delight in time spent with their grandchildren, Oliver and Emerson. An active SLGA member, Kay has held roles such as secretary and most recently was captain for High Sierra Team Play. She is eager to contribute to Somersett's strategic vision and long-term success in any capacity needed.
