Brandon Games, our Vice President, hails from Iowa and served four years in the U.S. Navy in San Diego. Married to Eva since 2001, they are parents to twins, Trevor and Wyatt. The family moved to Reno in 2005, joined Somersett Golf and Country Club (SGCC) in 2015, and shares a passion for golf. Brandon, a former owner of a mobile auto glass franchise, now runs Tahoe Blue Wash with two locations in Reno and Sun Valley, illustrating his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to community.

Cindy Hardy

Cindy Hardy, brings a rich background in Human Resources management from her 35-year career in the Bay Area's tech industry. A Delaware native who spent her formative years in Southern California, Cindy holds a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA and an MBA from Pepperdine. She moved to Reno's Somersett community in 2017 with her husband, Rex, finding a perfect spot overlooking the 12th hole. Parents to Brett and Jeffrey, who also reside in Reno, Cindy has been an active member of the Somersett Ladies Golf Association, serving as VP and President. With a lifelong passion for golf, she's dedicated to enhancing the club's reputation as Reno's premier golf destination, cherishing the sport and community it fosters.

Bob and his wife Brenda, originally from Parker, Colorado, found their new home in Reno in December 2021, already familiar with the area from their time in Sacramento and a Tahoe retreat. Proud parents to Rachel, a UNR graduate and local fifth-grade teacher, and Laura, thriving in Sonoma as a marketing director, they're a family united by love and golf. With Bob's retirement, they eagerly joined the Somersett Golf and Country Club, celebrating his extensive career in golf hospitality. Their life is a blend of family milestones and a deep commitment to the golfing community.

RJ Steines brings over 30 years of finance expertise, excelling in accounting, FP&A, and system implementations across diverse industries. His roles have included Corporate Controller and VP of Finance, focusing on improving financial accuracy and operational efficiencies. RJ is passionate about leveraging his skills to drive organizational growth by enhancing information quality and business process control.

Wayne Griffin

Wayne Griffin, a Reno resident since 1966 and married to Jackie for over 25 years, boasts a deep connection with the Somersett community, having joined the Golf and Country Club in 2004. With four children and two grandchildren, the Griffins have actively contributed to the community, serving on the Somersett Board and Men's Golf Association, and investing in seven local properties. Wayne's commitment to the Club is fueled by the friendships, golf, and camaraderie it offers, underscoring a lasting gratitude for the enriching experiences Somersett CC has provided his family.

Gary Kerwood

Gary Kerwood, has a rich background that spans from Beaverton, Oregon, to various U.S. cities before finally settling in Canyon Pines in 2015. An Oregon State University alum, Gary later earned a law degree from Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College, specializing in real estate law in Portland and Honolulu. Married to Liz since 1975, with two children and five grandchildren, Gary now cherishes his retirement, spending much of his time on the golf course. Liz, who embraced golf during the pandemic, has deepened their appreciation for the sport and the friendships they've nurtured at Somersett.

Al Rogers aims to contribute across multiple areas on the board, including governance, golf operations, and communication with staff and members. With 43 years in Reno, his background spans education, coaching, and local government, where he managed golf courses, budgets, emergency management, and legislative affairs. These experiences equip him to bring valuable insights to SGCC. Al recognizes the challenges the golf industry faces, such as maintaining financial stability. He believes the strategic plan is essential for long-term success and is committed to guiding its execution. With experience in golf, education, and government, and as a retiree, Al is ready to devote his energy to supporting the board. He emphasizes data-driven solutions and strong communication to foster collaboration, with the goal of contributing to a stable, growing, and enjoyable club.

A proud member of Somersett Golf & Country Club since 2011, Mike brings decades of expertise in the Food & Beverage industry, having designed, built, and operated a successful restaurant in Santa Clara, CA. With skills in managing teams, optimizing operations, and delivering quality dining experiences, he’s committed to revitalizing The Grille and reducing its financial losses. Mike also brings hands-on experience in construction and project management, having contributed to numerous club projects. A resident of Sparks since 2011, Mike is dedicated to the club’s growth and financial stability, prioritizing F&B improvements and redirecting savings to enhance the golf course. Married to Tori, with two daughters, their spouses, and three grandchildren, Mike is passionate about making Somersett a thriving community for all members.

Tom Warden

Tom Warden’s desire to serve on the board comes from his experience on the finance committee, where he gained valuable insights into the club’s operations and contributed to key discussions. He is inspired to play a more active role in shaping the club’s future, with a focus on achieving financial stability, investing in capital improvements, and ensuring the food and beverage operations meet or exceed break-even performance. Believing in the strength of the club’s management team, Tom views the board’s role as making strategic decisions while holding the GM accountable for financial and operational goals. With a B.S. in Accounting and an MBA from Harvard, Tom retired after a 39-year career in insurance, holding leadership roles such as Chief Data Officer at AIG and Employers Insurance. He is committed to ensuring Somersett Golf and Country Club’s long-term success and growth and looks forward to earning the support of fellow members.
